Follow Alyssa's Technique
Step One: Begin by creating a clean sectioning pattern. Alternate between diagonal-back and horizontal sections as you work your way up the head.
Step Two: For the front, focus on preserving brightness. Paint lowlights where the sun would naturally hit, paying close attention to the client’s parting.
Step Three: Depending on the client’s natural part, apply 2-3 lowlights. Start with a diagonal-forward section near the ear, ensuring the lowlights mimic the natural flow of light.
Step Four: For clients with a deep side part, apply 3 lowlights on the heavier side of the part and 2 on the lighter side to create balance and dimension.
Step Five: Feather the lowlight color about 3/4 of the way down each section, ensuring a seamless blend.
Step Six: Once you’ve painted the lowlights, pull the color through the ends 5-10 minutes before rinsing to ensure a soft, blended result.
Step Seven: After rinsing, apply an all-over gloss to enhance shine and leave the hair with a gorgeous golden sand tone. The gloss will not only seal in the color but also give the hair a warm, sun-kissed glow with beautiful depth and dimension.
